Where to Stay in Tbilisi: Radisson Blu Iveria Spa Hotel Review

Mar 07

Our review of the Radisson Blu Iveria, a spa hotel for travellers and business people, where excellent facilities meet relaxation at a convenient location.

If you’re looking where to stay in Tbilisi, Radisson Blu Iveria Spa Hotel is definitely a no-brainer.

Located on the iconic Shota Rustaveli avenue, which connects Tbilisi’s Old Town to the new part of the city, this 5-star hotel is one of the best places to stay in Tbilisi.

From the stunning views of the city’s skyline to elegant rooms and top-notch spa facilities, the hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

We know that because we were lucky enough to spend a whole week at the Radisson Blu Iveria during the Traverse 24 conference, and before our snowboarding trip to Gudauri. We couldn’t have stayed at a better hotel.

That’s why we’re sharing our experience with you, so you can click on the book this hotel button with confidence and enjoy a luxurious stay in Tbilisi.

Hotel Features

I’ve said before and I’ll say it again: I love that feeling of anticipation when I’m about to open the door of a hotel room.

It’s a make it or break it moment when you either have a little jump on the bed or head straight to reception to make a complaint.

After a long flight between the UK and Tbilisi, I couldn’t have been happier when we opened the door to our Superior Room, it’s probably one of the most spacious rooms of this category I’ve ever stayed in.

It was worth a jump on the king-sized bed to celebrate!

Even though we arrived early in the morning when it was still dark, the panoramic views framing the city was actually what first captured my attention.

Besides the stunning vista, the room comes equipped with a bathtub and a rain shower, as well as a separate bathroom.

There are a number of amenities such as a minibar, individual climate control, TV with mirror casting, coffee facilities, toiletries, iron and a trouser presser.

In summary, we couldn’t have wished for a better room for our week-long stay in Tbilisi.

Interior of a Superior Room featuring white walls, a wooden panel on the left forefront, a king-sized bed with white sheets, a mirror above the bed, a glass window with dark wooden frame in the background, a desk with a fruit platter and coffee facilities on the right, and a round green leather chair next to it.

Fast free WiFi

As it’s pretty much the norm nowadays, Radisson Blue provides free Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel, which is great because I sometimes have to work while travelling.

As a location-independent freelance language teacher and translator, I rely on good internet connection to travel and work while having the least amount of stress when I’m away from home.

I did have a bit of a hiccup during a call, but I think it was more a Zoom update issue than a problem with the hotel’s internet. Overall, the Wi-Fi connection was stable and reliable.

Restaurant and Bars

The hotel offers a choice of four bars and restaurants that matches Tbilisi’s vibrant and diverse food scene.

Filini, a traditional Italian restaurant, is where the hotel’s signature buffet breakfast is served.

Not a morning person? Radisson’s got your back. Breakfast hours go from 7 am to 11 am, so you won’t (and you absolutely shouldn’t) have to swap breakfast time for those precious extra hours in bed.

Trust me, you won’t want to miss out the food at Filini. The produce is fresh, flavoursome and moreish, like pretty much everything you’ll eat in Georgia.

If you fancy eating Southeast Asian food, head to Umami restaurant on the ground floor near reception. We had a chance to eat buffet lunch there during the conference, and it was delicious.

Besides Filini and Umami, there’s Café Iveria and Republic24 located in front of the hotel, each on one side of Shota Rustaveli Avenue.

Café Iveria is the place to go if you’re after coffee, pastries and light bites, and Republic24 is the go-to place for Georgian food.

In the foreground on the left, a glass cupboard with wooden framing stores spa products. In the background, a man wearing a navy top, trousers, and white trainers stands in front of the spa's curved wood reception desk. The walls on the left are light brown, adorned with a TV screen, a white door, a vase with white and pink flowers, and a painting featuring a swimmer in a blue cap and goggles against a serene ocean and sky backdrop. To the right, a narrow window reveals city views and a long corridor leading to the spa.

The Staff

From the moment we checked in right to the check-out, we were well looked-after by the Radisson Blu’s Iveria staff.

Obviously, this didn’t come as a surprise to us.

When you take the already high standards provided by the Radisson chain and combine it with the unparalleled Georgian hospitality, you can only get outstanding customer service.

From the eagerness of the reception desk staff to assist you to the housekeeping team willing to clean your room any time of the day, the staff at the Radisson Blu Iveria will do what they can to ensure you have a pleasant stay.

The Spa

The Radisson Blu Iveria is one of the best spa hotels in Tbilisi, and it’s easy to see why.

Open daily from 8 am to 11 pm, the superb Anne Semonin spa center is designed as a haven of peace for guests seeking luxury, relaxation, and well-being.

Located on the top floor overlooking the city, the spa is open to hotel guests at no additional cost and with breathtaking views as an added bonus.

Upon check-in at the spa, each guest receives a pair of slippers and a key to the changing room lockers.

The changing room offers showers, toiletries, hairdryers and a bathroom, and it’s where you can access to the common areas.

The pool area is stunning, especially on sunny days, when the natural light comes through the high-ceiling glass windows contrasting with the different shades of blue of the infinity pool, and creating a truly magical sight.

There are plenty of loungers around the pool for relaxing with a view of the city. There are separate sauna and steam rooms for men and women situated in a more private section of the spa.

That’s where you can also find a sunbed, rain showers with massage jets and a few more loungers for chilling out in-between your sauna sessions.

For me, the spa’s killer feature is the spacious Scandi-style, wood-panelled sauna topped with fantastic city views. Probably the best view I’ve ever seen from a sauna and I’ve been in quite a few!

The downsides were the lack of a mini dryer for my wet bathing suit and the disposable slippers provided, that seem to end up in the bin rather than being recycled.

What we loved about Radisson Blu Iveria

  • Convenient location
  • Well-equipped, spacious rooms
  • Friendly and helpful staff
  • Luxurious spa
  • Mouth-watering buffet breakfast
